Frances is a Darien transplant hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. She has been in Darien now for several years and is drawn to the painterly inspirations of her new home. She is also a recent magna cum laude graduate of Georgia State University School of Art and Design, after having graduated many years earlier from Emory University with a degree in English literature. Art studies include the Vermont Studio Center as well as various workshops and local instructors in Atlanta. Her new memberships are Glynn Art Association, Jekyll Island Art Association, as well as the McIntosh Art Association. She previously held memberships in the Southeastern Pastel Society (Member of Excellence), Atlanta Artists Center (Advanced Merit), and the Plein Air Painters of Georgia with whom she still shows and participates.

Frances has participated juried national shows, invitational shows and has solo shows in Birmingham, Alabama; Atlanta, Georgia;  Knoxville, Tennessee; and Jekyll Island, Georgia. She paints in various media and has recently enjoyed doing sculpture. Her style is largely figurative, often with a nod toward the dichotomies of sadness and laughter. It is her belief that the process of creativity is one of life's great joys. She has recently built a studio in Darien's historic district.
