MAA is excited to launch The Betty Vaughn Art Scholarship to a McIntosh student pursuing higher education in the field of Visual Arts.
This year’s $1000 recipient is Miss Bre’Onna Armstrong, a 2020 graduate of MCA. Bre is attending Coastal College with plans to finish up at SCAD with an animation degree. We are excited to be able to give back to our community through lifting up a young artist, as well as being able to honor Betty, who has given so much to MAA throughout the years!
McIntosh Art Association is pleased to offer a scholarship in the amount of $1000 to a McIntosh County student pursuing higher education in the field of visual arts 2021.
As for the scholarship requirements, the applicant must be a graduating senior at McIntosh County Academy or a home-schooled McIntosh County resident.
An application (a PDF file) can be downloaded by clicking HERE.
The Scholarship is named for artist Betty Vaughn, who has long been heavily involved in the non-profit organization. Ms. Vaughn was among those donating their time and labor to help renovate an old jail into The Old Jail Art Center and served as McIntosh Art Association’s first president. She is passionate about art, and through the years, MAA has richly benefited from the support of her and her family.
